Let $x_1,\dots ,x_n$ be observations of a variable $X$.

We defined the weighted mean as:

$$\overline{X}=\frac{{\sum }_{i=1}^n{w}_i{x}_i}{{\sum }_{i=1}^n{w}_i}$$

…where $w_i$ is the weight of each $x_i$.
